Who am I?
Mike Davis is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, former CrossFit box owner, academic, and coach dedicated to developing strong, resilient athletes through discipline, and science backed training. Mike brings a rare blend of military experience, academic rigor, and elite coaching mentorship. During his time in the Marine Corps, Mike served as an Anti-Tank Assault man, Machine Gunner, and Combat Marksmanship Instructor -- roles that forged the leadership, toughness, and integrity he brings to every training session. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Exercise Science from Southeastern Louisiana University and pursued Ph.D. studies and taught at LSU, focusing on immune cell and cardiovascular pathology responses to physical training. Mike is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a USA Weightlifting Level-1 Coach (USAW-1). His coaching philosophy is deeply influenced by giants in the field: Internationally known Olympic strength coach Gayle Hatch and his protégé, Coach Matt Bruce, whose legacy of technical mastery and discipline continues through Mike’s work. Mike was also deeply influenced and taught by Coaches Tommy Moffitt and Kurt Hester (RIP). Mike has dedicated his life and studies to not only exercise physiology but strength and conditioning and hopes to train the next line of champions in the Southeast LA region standing on the shoulders of giants. Mike is indebted to his family, numerous S&C coaches, and professors and hopes to continue the legacies that they have built.
